The Byrne Kean dinner is an annual event named in honor of Brendan Byrne and Tom Kean, former NJ governors who embodied New Jersey’s tradition of principled leadership and bipartisanship during their governorships and afterwards. It is a yearly gathering for the politicians, governmental leaders, and journalists, and features the annual Journalism Impact Awards and a performance by the Legislative Correspondents Club.
The governors’ years of “Byrne-Kean Dialogues” in the Sunday Star-Ledger set a standard of civil bipartisan discourse in the tradition of the Adams-Jefferson correspondence that CNJLM seeks to emulate, particularly in our Community Engagement Series.
