Joe Territo is the Chief Executive Officer and Publisher of the Corporation for New Jersey Local Media (CNJLM) and New Jersey Hills Media Group. He oversees the organizations’ editorial, financial, and administrative operations, working closely with staff, board leadership, and community partners to advance high-quality, sustainable local journalism across New Jersey.
A Morristown native, Territo began his journalism career as an intern at the Roxbury Register before joining The Star-Ledger, where he was a founding editor of NJ.com. He later held senior executive roles with Advance Local and other media organizations, focusing on newsroom innovation, digital strategy, and audience growth.
Prior to becoming CEO and Publisher, Territo served as Executive Editor of New Jersey Hills, leading a site redesign, expanding newsletter offerings, launching new content partnerships, and recruiting newsroom talent. His work reflects a long-standing commitment to community-focused reporting and adapting local journalism for a digital future.
Nancy Peplinsky joins the leadership team at the Corporation for New Jersey Local Media in the role of Development Manager. She has spent two decades in the nonprofit sector, including founding and building the Holistic Moms Network, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that grew to more than 100 chapters across the country. Beyond her nonprofit roots, Nancy brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial drive and organizational leadership to CNJLM. In more recent years she built and grew a unique pet food brand into northeast regional distribution and headed up the branding and marketing for a large, innovative veterinary center.
Nancy’s passion for mission-aligned organizations and her combined experience in the nonprofit sector and business marketing are powerful assets for CNJLM. She is an avid follower of current news and events, and holds four degrees in political science including a PhD in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
