Thanks to everyone who joined us for an supported the third annual Byrne Kean Dinner on October 11, 2023 at the Park Avenue Club! Chaired by Governor Tom Kean and Ruthi Byrne, the event honored four extraordinary journalists and one generous philanthropist who have made a significant impact on journalism in our state: 

• New Jersey Journalism Local Impact Award was presented to Jessie Gomez from Chalkbeat Newark for her reporting on diversity, equity, and inclusion in Newark schools;
• One New Jersey Journalism Statewide Impact Award went to John Reitmeyer, budget and finance reporter for NJ Spotlight News;
• A second New Jersey Journalism Statewide Impact Award was presented to Riley Yates, lead data reporter for NJ Advance Media for nj.com and The Star-Ledger;
• Legendary political columnist Charles Stile, of the Bergen Record/NorthJersey.com received the Lifetime Achievement Award in New Jersey Journalism;
• Philanthropist Josh Weston, former CEO of ADP, received the second annual Loretta Weinberg Award, which honors non-journalists who have made a significant impact on New Jersey journalism during their careers.
